Submissions

Project Proposals

Couch in the Desert accepts project proposals on an ongoing basis and reviews them monthly. Projects from selected proposals are published on the blog and shared on our Instagram. 

For consideration, please send a brief proposal for writing, a photo essay, an interview with another artist, curating an online exhibition, a video/performance or another creative project responding in any way to the broad prompt “Couch in the Desert.” We are interested in projects with some connection to Las Vegas or the Southwest/Western region, no matter how tangential.

In your proposal, please include the following:

• A 300 word maximum proposal in the body of an email

• Any other materials (images, video, etc.) you’d like to share

• A weblink (optional)

Content included will be published on the blog and shared on our Instagram. Please email your proposal to citdsubmissions@gmail.com with “CITD Prompt Call for Submissions” in the subject line. Ongoing call.

Call for Photography

Couch in the Desert also accepts photography, looping video clips, and GIFs on an ongoing basis. We welcome unique perspectives of Las Vegas / Southwest / Western urban landscapes and environments. We review submissions monthly.

In your submission, please include the following:

• Up to 5 images, GIFs, and/or looping video clips in landscape format

• Resolution for photos must be at least 300dpi

• File sizes for looping video clips and GIFs must be small enough to facilitate web-based viewing

Selected images and a 1-2 sentence artist bio will be published on Couch in the Desert’s homepage and posted to our Instagram on a quarterly basis. Please email your proposal to citdsubmissions@gmail.com with “CITD Call for Photography” in the subject line. Ongoing call.
